LADY GAGA KICKS OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR:

Lady Gaga kicked off the North American leg of her Born This Way Ball tour on January 11 in Vancouver, Canada for a two-and-a-half hour aural and visual extravaganza. According to Rolling Stone magazine, the set was "daunting and impressive, a multi-level, morphing ancient castle. Her costume changes were, as expected, frequent and fabulous."

GREEN DAY'S MIKE DIRNT PAYS TRIBUTE TO DECEASED BIRTH MOTHER:

Green Day bass player Mike Dirnt payed tribute to his recently deceased birth mother in a statement on the band's official website. Dirnt's mother Carol Alba Rowland put him up for adoption as a baby and the rocker reconnected with her just one month before she died. "Today we mourn the loss of Carol Alba Rowland my birth mother!"
