Monday morning Mathew had Priscillia on the show talking about this horrible blind date her friend set her up on. As I listened I started to ponder “I have horror stories like this too, why is that?” Why do most bad blind date stories sound like they could be a bad episode of American Horror Story. . . or a good episode of the Bachelor (if there is such a thing)? So I have come to the conclusion that the biggest cause of bad blind dates are. . . the women in a committed relationships setting up the blind dates.
Already, if you’re a women, you’re thinking “I’d like to kick him in the manhood with a steel tipped boot.” BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT!!!
I want to make it clear that I think it’s sweet when attempting to set up your single friends. There is one of 2 reasons women in relationships try to set up their friends.
ONE: Women in committed relationships seem to have this implant in their heads, put their by aliens, that gives you direct orders from the mothership to make sure all of your single friends are paired off so you can be prepared for “The Harvest”. This is done without actually considering if they would really be compatible. If you don’t believe me, just ask the last single person in your life you tried to set up.
TWO: Love is blind. Even love for your friends can blind you when looking to find the right person because you just want what’s best for them. You want them to experience the same amazing thing you do in your relationship, which is great, but just like the first reason, you’re not thinking it through.
Priscillia was set up on a blind date by a friend who is married. Every single blind date I have ever been on has been set up by a married woman. So the next time you say to yourself “OH YOU KNOW WHO WOULD BE GOOD TOGETHER?” Take a moment to relax, take a deep breath and really think about it.
So what do you think? Am I right? Am I wrong? You got any bad blind date stories? leave a comment below and lets discuss
