When I decided I wanted to go back to school I still had two young children at home. I didn't want to put them in day care while I went to school, and I really couldn't afford to pay child care costs on top of tuition and books. Rio Salado's online classes were perfect for me because it meant I could still be home with my kids while I attended school. Once all three of my children were in school themselves, I participated in a few district-wide programs that helped me to maintain the flexibility of online classes while giving me a taste of campus life. I also became involved in Rio Salado's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and was elected President this year. I will graduate in May with my associate's degree in Public Administration. I have earned a full-tuition scholarship to ASU for next year where I will pursue a bachelor's degree in Public Policy. Rio Salado helped open up a whole new world for me by offering the me opportunity to return to school on my schedule.
