![]() | I started attending Rio Salado in Fall 2009. My twin daughters were only 7 months old at the time, I had to attend a school that was completely online so that I could be home caring for my children. I have worked hard for my grades and received a few scholarships and awards. I am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and through them received the All-Arizona Academic Team scholarship. This scholarship allows me to continue at ASU for my Bachelor's degree with my tuition paid for 2 years full-time status. I have had many good professors that were always ready to help and great encouragement from the college. I have just had my baby son who was born on Jan. 12th and the whole time that I was pregnant, my professors understood if I needed an extension on an assignment. My success in school has very much been teamwork. I have a husband that helps watch the children when he isn't doing his own schoolwork so that I can work on my schoolwork, my professors have always been there to help when needed, and my friends and family being my cheer group. I came from a family that didn't have the money to put me through college and at a young age was strapped down with medical bills. I never thought that I would get to go back to school until I heard of Rio Salado and now I'm on my way to getting a Bachelor's degree. I am also showing my children that its important to continue your education and achieve great things. Rio Salado has been a huge blessing in my life and my families' lives. Signed, |
