It took me 17 years to get a Bachelor's degree. I could only afford to attend part time, and then I had children which made it difficult to attend classes and eventually I took a 5 year hiatus. I have 5 children under the age of 10, one of which has special needs. Sitting in a classroom was not an option for me! Rio opened up a whole new world for me. I did my classes at night AFTER my kids were in bed. I love the format, the assignments are laid out by the week, making it easy to keep up. I appreciate the testing center's good hours, I could squeeze in a final when it best fit MY schedule. The best part was that I did not have to leave my home to get registered! I did everything online, including ordering my book! When I started Rio, I only needed 3 more classes to get my associates degree. I was so excited to FINALLY be able to finish up what I had started! I took the needed classes to graduate, (in my case it was easier to transfer my classes back over to GCC, so that is where I graduated, but I could not have done it without Rio). The wonderful experience with Rio online, inspired me to go further...so I took another year of prerequiste classes at Rio and then transferred to NAU online. I got a Bachelors in Public Admin. in 2009. I am currently working on my Masters Degree online. I owe this to the positive experience I had with online schooling through Rio Salado. My success with Rio opened up a whole new world for me and helped me to realize I could pursue my goal of higher education! Thank you Rio!
