I started Rio Salado College in prison. I am so grateful to Rio Salado for having something like this for people in prison to start improving thier lives before even getting out. I continued after leaving prison which I am happy to say was 7 years ago and graduated in 2009 with an Associates in Computer Technology. I may have never believed that someone like myself could turn my life around and get a degree. Did I mention that I am 51 years old too? I learned so much while going to school and now I am assistant to the IT genius here and learn more every day. Even if I don't win this contest I wish to thank Rio Salado for the opportunity that was given to me by them. I may someday continue on to get my Bachelors in Business but for now I am busy raising my grandson. I do have the opportunity to work with people who wouldn't normally have the chance to go to school because of thier financial situations but I have learned a little about pell grants and I always suggest Rio Salado as a way to get ahead. Go RIO!!!!
